So my WKU Hilltoppers are headed to the big dance!! Go Tops!
Today I tried to concentrate a little more on food but I was SO hungry today! I started the day with a small bowl of brown rice pudding and a handful of grapes and then for lunch I had a salad with spinach, romaine, a handful yummy cherry tomatoes and shredded cheese topped with just a tiny drizzle of honey mustard. I also treated myself to three yummy Hershey squares! I snacked ALL DAY though on my favorite Planters Wholesome Nut Mix and some Clementine cuties and one honey crisp apple.
This afternoon, Ryman and I headed over to Papa and Gamma’s to have some more FaceTime with the Floridians, and we had a little fun with the camera while we were waiting.
I thought that I would run this evening, but I think I’m going to have an inside Jillian date instead. Here is my problem and get ready because I’m going to admit to everyone right now that I am one giant wuss. My treadmill is located in my unheated, uninsulated garage so that I can run after Rylnn is asleep and not wake him up, but when it’s windy and cold like it is tonight, I just loathe going out there because I freeze. Wuss Wuss Wuss. So, maybe inside tonight and I can try the treadmill tomorrow.
So I still can’t seem to get any pictures downloaded which is absolutely killing me, so we have a contest now! If you can come up with the best creative blog title for a post about my blog’s malfunctioning causing me turn into an insane monster type person, you win! I’ll decide on a prize, but I promise you I’ll make it worth your while, and I’ll hand deliver it to you or I will mail it.
I now have 234629837 pictures of Miss Elizabeth and some precious pictures of Rylnn in the park from Saturday so stay tuned!
Today was a nice rest day, after running for the last two days in a row, and I’ll hopefully be able to get in another run tomorrow as I get ready to Beat Beethoven on Saturday. Hopefully I’ll be able to upload pics tomorrow!
Our Saturday got off to a great start watching a basketball game and turned into an even better day as we began to indulge in some of our favorite things!
Well unfortunately my blog host is having some type of malfunction this evening (I thought that they had this fixed!) so I can’t post up the other 15 photos showing the rest of the favs we got to experience today. Hopefully I will be able to add them soon, but we purchased a Mickey Mouse balloon, a Happy Meal, Chicken McNuggets, and then the big one…We got to play all afternoon in the park! Rylnn slid down every slide at least 10 times and climbed back up as many slides as he could manage, he watched all the ducks and geese swimming and flying around the pond and ran and ran and ran. He was one tired pup this evening, but it was a great day out in the sunshine!
I did get to go on a great 5K length run when we got back home and it was the best run I think I’ve had since I started blogging. Since I was struck with whatever sickness I had at the beginning of February, I haven’t had any energy and have pushed myself to the point of no return in my workouts just to finish, especially my running. Today was totally different! Felt great and finished strong and was so super excited about it! And after talking to one of my faithful readers today, I would just like to add…Remember that a mile is a mile no matter what speed you are walking or running and any activity is better than no activity. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel like you are where you need to be or you aren’t as fast or as good as someone else (you should NOT be comparing yourself to anyone else)…Just set small goals for yourself and when you meet them, celebrate! Then set a little bigger goal and continue until you achieve it. But please, keep up the good work!
Again, I hope I can add the rest of my pictures soon, because they’re fabulous and we also have to have our daily installment of Baby Elizabeth, and man do I have a cute one to share!! Check back for picture updates…and don’t forget to set your clocks to Spring Forward in the morning!
My long, yet productive office day was over and done before I could blink and I was off to get my Ryman for a Papa date! Gamma is in Florida for the month to help with Miss Elizabeth Faith, so we went to “play outside with Papa,” according to Rylnn, have a bit of supper and then FaceTime with Auntie Miss, Gamma and Baby Elizabeth.
First we ran around for awhile, literally he just ran back and forth in the yard giggling and laughing, then a quick glider ride and then it was time to go see Baby Doll, the next door neighbor’s horse that Rylnn is just fascinated with.
Then we came back in and ate a nice salad, a quick pizza, and a few cheese sticks while chatting with the Floridians. This precious baby just gets more beautiful everyday!
Tonight, I ran a very de-stressing, easy 2 miles on the treadmill and hope that tomorrow I can get outside and run around and play with my Rylnn in the beautiful weather!
First things first, here is my precious niece heading home from the hospital today! Is that flower not the most ridiculously cute thing you ever seen?!
And burping just wears her out completely!
I miss her so much already and I haven’t been away from her for even a full day yet! However, I can’t seem to handle being away just a day or two from my own little mischievous squirt of a boy without squeezing and kissing all over him, so I had to come back home, knowing that I’ll be back in Florida in just a few weeks to spoil her rotten again!
After one of the most splendid nights of uninterrupted sleep in awhile, I woke up refreshed and ready to get to the office to catch up on all I had missed while I was travelling for the past two days, and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had feared. Sweet Tiffany helped me with a few things and I was quickly back on track and before I knew it, it was time to pick up my baby boy and head home for an afternoon of play time.
After I got him all tucked in to bed, I started some rice pudding out of the leftover brown rice that I had made for supper with some unsweetened almond milk, a little cinnamon sugar, and vanilla and let it simmer while I tackled tonight’s workout.
Tonight’s workout. Tabata Supersets. Wow. Let me just say that it was quite intense and rather challenging and after not being able to workout for the past few days, I am definitely going to feel this all over in the morning! Looking forward to a nice bowl of my rice pudding tomorrow for my FRIDAY morning breakfast and then bring on the weekend!
Because pictures say SO much more than words…
For those of you that missed me last night, I had the best reason in the world to not be on the computer…I was driving all night long in order to be at the hospital just in time for my new baby niece to be born!
Elizabeth Faith Chapman was born at 5:58am March 5th, weighing in at a whopping 6lbs 14oz and 20 1/4 inches long and I have to tell you that I am SUPER happy I had a boy because this baby girl is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen! Her Mama is doing wonderfully well and looks like a million bucks, as usual! That sweet baby girl is very alert for a newborn and will just look at you through these big magnificent eyes that absolutely capture your heart and I can already tell you that Auntie B is head over heels, as are mom and dad, Gamma and Papa and anyone else that seems to come into contact with her.
I will have TONS of more pictures for you later, but right now I am hopefully going to try to get a quick power nap so I will be ready to spend the entire afternoon and evening with my sister, Philip, and that precious baby girl.
This morning after a wonderful worship service at church and lunch at Gamma and Papa’s, we I decided to make a quick journey over to Kohl’s because they were having a spectacular clearance event! Now for the most part, Rylnn doesn’t really need any clothes…He is almost 2 ½ and he is still wearing mostly 18 month shirts, however, true to the Sheridan body build, he is going to have legs that just don’t stop. He has grown out of his pants at a shocking rate, and since warmer weather is HOPEFULLY right around the corner, I was just going to look for a couple of pairs of pants and maybe a cute shirt. I wound up with two pairs of pants and one shirt for a whole $5.72 including tax. Seriously!
After my exciting purchase at Kohl’s, we headed back home for Ryman’s nap and my dreaded hill running that I had planned, and I decided to try out my Vibram Bikila LS five finger toe shoes that I have owned for over a year and tragically never even tried. I have to say; just me trying to put them on was quite funny…My toes are shaped funny or something. Once I conquered that feat, I literally headed for the hills in my strangely comfortable toe shoes. My total review being little indifferent, they were comfortable, much more so than you might think, however, I have weak ankles and really missed the support of my Asics that I’ve grown so accustomed to. I did not feel each little rock underneath my feet that I expected to, in fact I didn’t feel anything like that at all, but I did miss the normal cushioning, especially since I was running on asphalt. I think they would probably be great for trail running.
Tomorrow starts my Spring Bootie Buster Challenge! I’m very excited, since I tend to be quite a little competitive I think it will motivate me even more to consistently workout and eat better and especially DRINK MORE WATER.
Time to rest up…If Little Miss cooperates, I’ll be Auntie B before the end of this week and I intend to fully spoil that child morning, noon, and night!
Just a few questions to think about:
What do you think my sister is going to name that precious baby girl? How many pictures do you think I’ll be posting of that precious angel?
Just to end your day with a smile…He loves my heels.
Today started with a trip to Wal-Mart to make a very important purchase and now you all may think I’m crazy, but I have a two year old, I am a clean freak, and I didn’t have one of these in my house! Best $35 I’ve ever spent!
Then we headed over to watch my niece, Faith, play in an Upward basketball game this afternoon, and let me just tell you, she can flat out play! We watched her play last week as well and I’m quite impressed with her hustle and her defensive skills, especially when she has to guard some taller and rather skilled girls.
After the game, we had a date with Gamma and Papa and shared a wonderful evening with them, playing, reading, etc., and eating a magnificent bowl of gumbo (It’s the most incredible gumbo you will ever eat!) and homemade carrot cake that I have been craving for some time. I’ve mentioned before that I think my mother is the best cook in the country and she has proven it yet again for the 18273687th time.
This afternoon after we got back from the game, I did sneak off for a quick 3.5 mile run…in the snow…the blasted snow that has been falling over western Kentucky for the past 3 days. This is what it looked like when I headed out.
While I wanted my run to be a nice long run in the sun, it turned into a let’s see how fast I can run in the snow and wind before I freeze or catch pneumonia. It was a run nonetheless and it did feel nice to finally be running outside again.
Now I’m headed for flannel pajamas, a movie, and my beloved fuzzy blanket…No better way to spend a cold, snowy Saturday night in my opinion.
